Nail Polish in Christmas Ornaments

Have you ever had a bottle of nail polish that you really liked...the color beckoned you, begged you to buy it...and then you did not wear it much? I had bought some really cheap bottles of nail polish with the thought that I would use them on "washer jewelry". Tried it, didn't love it, moved on.

As I am doing alcohol ink ornaments and pouring paint inside, it occurs to me to try the nail polish. It is fast drying, coats nails pretty well, fluid enough to coat.
Cool, right? And yes, I got carried away and did as many colors as I had nail polish.

Word of caution. If one of the little metal balls falls into your ornament -you know the ones that they put in there to help mix up your polish-as you are pouring in the polish, do not shake your ornament or it will surely break. Don't ask. :) Thought it would help spread the paint, not so much.

Helpful hint: A cotton swab works really well to get those little, hard to reach spots in the ornaments. they can be bent at odd angles.

Example with two colors.

Example with many colors letting some colors dry before adding new.

Here, I dripped in several colors at the same time and they blended together.

They are cute just as they are. However, because I am really into the alcohol ink, I must apply it to the outside of the ornament. It is an addiction of sorts.

Dripped some al ink on the outside, dried it with my heat wand, and then blended with a paint brush that had very small amount of rubbing alcohol..

The little guys at the top will have to wait for another day. If you give this a try, let me know how it goes!!
